Crypto.com allows users to buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies. Adding a debit card is a convenient way to fund your account for instant purchases. Here’s a detailed guide on how to do it:
Account Verification
Important: Before adding a debit card, ensure your Crypto.com account is fully verified (KYC – Know Your Customer). This typically involves submitting a government-issued ID and a selfie for verification. Verification levels impact spending limits.
Navigating to Card Management
- Open the Crypto.com app on your smartphone.
- Tap on the “Account” icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Select “Bank Accounts”.
- Tap on “Add Card”.
Entering Card Details
You’ll be prompted to enter your debit card information. Ensure accuracy!
- Card Number: Enter the 16-digit card number.
- Expiry Date: Input the month and year your card expires.
- CVV: Enter the 3-digit CVV code found on the back of your card.
- Cardholder Name: Enter the name as it appears on the card.
Verification Process
Crypto.com uses 3D Secure verification (like Verified by Visa or Mastercard SecureCode) for added security.
- SMS Verification: You’ll likely receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS to the phone number associated with your card. Enter this code in the app.
- Bank Authentication: Some banks may require you to authenticate the transaction through your bank’s mobile app or website. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Card Added Successfully!
Once verified, your debit card will be added to your Crypto.com account. You’ll see a confirmation message.
Spending Limits & Fees
Be aware of the following:
- Daily/Weekly Limits: Crypto.com imposes spending limits based on your verification level. Higher verification levels unlock higher limits;
- Fees: Debit card purchases may incur fees, which vary depending on your region and card issuer. Check the Crypto.com fee schedule.
Troubleshooting
Card Declined?
